Dissertation Binding

We hard bind thesis and dissertations with a normal turn around of 4 working days but a 24 hour service is available for an additional £20. Hard bound bindings in Buckram and Gold Tooled to suit universities specifications.

Hardbound Thesis

These are bound with a professional quality library buckram. The binding itself is thread sewn to the highest standard, and glued for maximum durability (read more).. With thick 3mm boards offering a rigid finish, and solid feel, flat back spec. is standard but can be rounded if requested. This binding is most commonly used for final thesis submission, and for personal copies.

Hardbound start at £29 per copy (price based on multiple thesis) and include gold tooling of title on front
cover and name, degree and the year produced, on the spine. Titles longer than three lines are charged

Softbound Thesis

The soft binding is high quality and secure using a clear acetate front cover and card back (read more).. The spine is sewn and finished in book cloth. A buckram covered and tooled version is available on request. Softbound start from £10 per copy. Read Less

Printing Charges

Bristol Bound aim to maintain printing charges as economically as possible, but please note (read more) : :
  • Pages with any colour will be charged at the colour rate
  • Grey scales can often be made from colour and so will be counted and charged as colour
  • If printing double sided, both sides of a page will be counted as colour regardless of only one side having colour
  • The printer readout indicates the number of colour and black and white pages printed and will be used to determine the final cost

File Preparation/Set Up

We can create dissertation binding thesis up to a maximum of 450 leaves or 900 pages (read more) :
  • Please refer to your university instructions, Bristol Bounds recommend a left margin of 25mm or greater, with all other margins set at 20mm
  • If you require double sided printing please make sure that the margins are correct on the front and reverse side of the pages (mirror image) and that the pagination is also in the correct position on both sides of the page

Share a file or folder

You can share a file or folder in Google Drive or in the Docs, Sheets, and Slides home screens.

  1. Open Drive, or a file or folder you want to share.
  2. Open the sharing box:
    • While you have a file open: Click Share in the top-right corner.
    • While you have a folder open: Click the share icon in the top-right Share.
    • From your file list in Drive: Select the name of a file or folder and click the share icon at the top Share.
  3. Under “People” in the sharing box, type the email addresses of the people or Google Groups you want to share with. You can also search for contacts by typing them into the box.
  4. Choose the type of access you want to give these users by clicking the dropdown arrow to the right of the text box:
    • Can edit: Users can edit the file or folder and share it with others
    • Can comment:  Users can view and add comments to the file, but can’t edit it. Folders can’t be given comment access.
    • Can view:  Users can see the file or folder but can’t edit or comment on it
  5. Click Done. The users will receive an email letting them know you’ve shared the file or folder with them.

Share links using the website

  1. Sign in to the Dropbox website and find the file or folder you’d like to link to.
  2. Hover the cursor over the file or folder and click the blue Share button that appears.
  3. A pop-up window will appear with the link. Enter the email addresses of the people you’d like to send the link to and click Send, or copy and paste the link in your email, instant message, blog post, or wherever you’d like people to access it.
